Mechanism of action

Methdilazine acts as an antagonist at H1 receptors, blocking the effects of histamine. This inhibition of histamine effectively relieves symptoms linked to allergic reactions, including itching, sneezing, and a runny nose.

Properties and uses: 

It may be used to relieve urticaria. It has also been used successfully for the treatment of migraine headaches and Allergic Rhinitis.

Dose: 

The usual dose for adults is 8 mg, taken orally twice to four times daily.
